Bhagavadgeeta

  • Usually MAdhwas have training from the childhood that PARAMATMA is different different from Jeeva ...So there cannot be at anytime doubt over the issue ..I was no exception ...
  • But then as we grow up we meet all kinds of scholars .. some moderate ,some liberals ,some very staunch .... Some moderates tried to impress upon that , actually the philosophy is a flow of thought and evolves with time ., SO what SANKARA propounded was actually improved upon by RAMANUJA and then ultimately refined by MADHWACHARYA .... so while we need not look down upon advaitis , it can be just taken as another philosophy , the actual show down with ADVAITA and others is just a an extention of narrowminded fundamentalist attitude
  • at an impressionable age we do think CAN that be true ? but again we enter school and are bombarded with Gandhian philosophy and also high romanticising of DESH BHAKTI . freedom fighters and Independence struggle ... suddenly these make you think are so many people fantasizing ?
  • Bhagadgeeta STARTS with a question BY ARJUN ... IS it really necessary to FIGHT for the sake of KINGDOM [ ie enjoyments power etc ] or just give UP for the sake avoiding MASS MASSACRE ?
  • All along Krishna says FIGHT that is DHARMA .. and here we have schools bombarding AHIMSA the MKG way ... and the GRAND NS thought give up something for the greater cause ... WHAT WRONG is ARJUN doing ... ?
  • Then many also have a romantic thought of WHY evil should not be given a chance ? will they not improve ? ARJUn also seems to be indicating that what IF kaurava rule . what difference would that make ... is the world going to change by this WAR .. why not let me accumulate knowledge and attain NIRVANA
  • WITH constant scholastic BOMABARDMENT .. VIVEKANANDA seems a great hero ... Ramakrishna seems a Great saint ... AROBINDO a philosopher and RAMANA a preacher ....VINOBA a great social worker .. Then all are ADVAITIS ...
  • SO a thought occured lets see what SANKARA has to say about Bhagavdgeeta ?
  • when seen It comes across that SANKARA finds it extremely difficult to reconcile his philosophy with BHAGAVADGEETA ..
  • and unable to reconcile the DICHOTOMY in sankara interpretation becomes more and more obvious ...BUT if we leave common sense backyards and GIVE extra importance to the EXTRA LARGE image of SANKARA built up by Romantic heroes like VIVEKANANDA RAMANA etc ... it seems ver dichitomy is the message of BHAGAVD GEETA
  • SANKARA seems to divide the bhagavdgeeta as two different rendering ONE FOR the unrealised and another for realised .. This becomes more obvious as VIVEKANANDA etc write their interpretation of BG ... they seem to toy with the idea that its better to follow the ways of realised and unrealised way is only for apprentices
  • The views propagated by the ADVAITI is total difference 180 out of phase sadhana for SANKHYA YOGI and KARMA YOGI ...
  • Arjuna seems to ask OH KRISHNA In one instance you praise the JNANA knowledge and then in the second instance You praise the KARMA .. YOu seem to be confusing .. WHEN JNANA marga is shrehstha [high superior ] then WHY are you pushing me into WAR [ karma ] where the possibility of raag dwesha attachments hate , are high ... [ in jnana marga one can just be elusive of such attachments and leave the world ] ....
  • WHILE in reality LORD KRISHNA seems to be solving the querries of ARJUN ... BUT SANKARA interpretation seems to be fortifying the very QUERY of ARJUN ... it leaves one high and dry without actually getting the solution to ARJUn's query thru that interpreatation ... infact SAnkara adds to confusion by dissecting the entire bhagavad geeta as KARMa yoga and JNANA yoga .. VIVEKANANDA like a modern scientist , who relishes the thought of adding his contribution to previous thought [ just for the sake of it ] adds RAJA YOGA to it

  • Then there is ashtavakra geeta which says KARMA is itself the root cause of Suffering .. and just ZERO in your KARMA ..and you would free /.... People influenced with this philosophy DO NOTHING ... they just idle out ...
  • On the whole Bhagavadgeeta in its interpreted FORM seems a varied TEXT driving inaction ... BUT anybody with common sense can sense that LORD KRISHNA is speaking about ACTION ... and its ARJUNA who is showing inaction ... IF BHAGAVADGEETA is speaking about inaction , then does it require 700 odd shlokas and detiled dialogue to JUST SAY ARJUN YOU ARE RIGHT Inaction is BETTER ...
  • In the market in the BHAGAVDGEETA one gets only inaction discourse ... So I normally do not advice anyone to read bhagavdgeeta to begin a spiritual journey .. BHAGAVDGEETA should be read at the fag end of spiritual journey .. It answers many a doubts that arises in the journey . but if one has not treaded the journey how would one know what is the doubt and what answer is actually intending
  • Bhagvad geeta is not a text in isolation , it has a background of BHAGAVAT and Pancharatra
  • It is only MADHWACHARYA who highlights this text as philososphical exposition ...
  • Superficial reading of bhagavadgeeta , what it does ? it gives rise to many many doubts ..... with no solution around it creates a wreck .. HOW ? a striking verse is "KARMANYEva ..." ... when one is introduced to Bhagavadgeeta with this verse ... The first question is can I get away with any karma ... Which KARMA shoud I do ... What is desire .. IS desire legitimate ? SANKARA bhashya does not answer any of these in clear terms , it infact gives Vipareeta gyana
  • the fact that it is not a simple text which can be read in isolation becomes more evident because MADHWACHARYA has written two commentaries on IT ... why two commentaries ?
  • Whats the great fortune we have in knowing the Works of MADWACHARYA is it legitimises many of the emotions , which otherwise with SANKARA bhashya makes one feel guilty about
  • I have spent most part of my life [ till date ] with an encounter or two with evil people .. mostly sitting in position of power ... Looking at them sundarkand words of .. durmad , full of garva .. anger .. dambha .. becomes a real sight ...
  • I have mars in 2nd ... the striking feature is one will be very stubborn .. a stubborn person when he has leo ascendant he just doesnt accept anyones authority ..[without legitimate reason ] in the least on the brute force ...
  • This makes one get a first reaction of anger when one encounters a durmad person .... NOW the first thing a philosophical spiritual person would ask is IS MY ANGER JUSTIFIED .. mean not an interaction has started .. but just based on LAXAN shastra I am enforcing anger .. There is clash of EGO ... MAN is in power and we are normal ..the immediate outcome is direct CONFLICT .. This conflict which people in surrounding have found unnecessary .. nearly always criticised me ..as to what is the need for expressing such an ANGER ..
  • The repeated conflicts makes one THINK AM i right ? is anger okay ?

  • BUT MADHWACHARYA as it is said in SUMADHWAVIJAYA .. the first reaction that he gives as he is born on earth , is everywhere people engaged in AVISHNAV acts .. completely immersed in sins .. so he feels like taking his gada mace once again and teach everyone a lesson .. THE ANGER he exhibits ... and then the authr says THIS IS LEGITIMATE .. now I ahve no calms about showing my anger .. what a relief .. And there is ANANDA in it ... FROm every angle MADHWA gives only happines
  • BUT then anger we can harbour .. but when we do not have enough strength to counter these durmada evils .. WHAT SHOULD WE DO ?
  • Go to SANKARA he will say ..what is evil what is good . its all mithya .. see yourself IN the DURMADA .. BUt that is not truth , I am nOT DURMADA

Retrograde Planets

  • Why do planet appear to be retrograde ..ie move backwards ? while moving backwards and again moving forward they become Stationary , what is the rational behind being stationary ?
  • The Bhchakra is revolving around the earth ...that is denoted by circle one [inner circle in top image ...the outer circle is the motion of planet mars ...The numbers 1.2.3.4.5.6.7 are the variable motion of the bhachakra and mars .. at given instance 1 2 3 4 5 6 ...

  • let us project these points onto a plane [ as seen from earth ] ... at point 1 of bhachakra [zodiac] corresponding point on the track of motion of mars projects as 1 on the plane .. similarly 2 , 3 also projects linearly ... at point 4 the motion of mars differs with motion of zodiac .. the projected point is now little behind the point 3 ... so also point 5 and at point 6 is again linearly head of point of 3 ...and so also 7 is head of 6 ... this gives a feeling of backward motion and forward motion to the onlooker on earth when he fixes the position of mars wrt zodiac ...
  • bhachakra point goes ahead ... say mars in aries 20deg ,, and then point 20 deg aries itself moves ahead then mars seems oving backwards becuase then mars wil be at 19 deg aries

THIS pitiable state of education is because ..of bramhins not keen to learn jyotishya and do manan on it /.

  • there will be two solutions for dL/dT=0 // y= 164 and y=360 -164 = 196 so planet becomes ruju after 196 deg ... it remains retro in between 164 and 196 ... these are degrees of seeghrakendra of mars and not longitudes of mars /... ongitude is found out by its position inepicycle an then corresponding center of epicycle ..
  • epicycle is wrt to DHRUVA .. allplanets are tied to DHRUVA , the tailend of SHimshumaar ..

Krishna Ashtami

  • Sept 8th is not correct .... KRISHNASHTAMI always should be celebrated in shravan masa only ... there are many pramanas for it ... LET ME GIVE SOME ...
  • THERE SEEMS TO BE A OPINION THAT KRISHNASHTAMI AND JAYANTI ARE TWO DIFFERENT VRATAS ,, Krishnashtami is nitya not doing krishnashtami will lead to hell ...and other lesser births ...
  • bhavishyottar purana - ShravaNe bahuLe pakshe KrishNa janmashtamivratam | na karoti naro yastu bhavati brmaharakshasah | shravan krishna ashtami tithi is krishnashtami vrata , a [erson who does not do this vrata becomes bramha rakshasa ... [ so it is nitya vrata ] ..... To indicate that there may be another day vrata [ like sept 8 this year ] if one does that another vrata leaving krishnashtami shrvana [ like the aug 9th night this year ] such a person will not get any result [phala ] of all the punya karua like building water tanks ,yagnya or will not get result of any other vrata niyam upavasa .... the relevant verse is " KrishNajanmaShtami tyaktva yoanyad vratamuPoshayet | napnoti sukrutam kinchishtapoortamathapiva ||"

  • Bhrigu RIshi says " janmashtami jayanti ch shivaratistathaiva ch poorvaviddhauva kartavyaa tithichante ch paraNam iti " that janmashtami jayanti shivratri all these vratas have to be celebrated on the day when there is previous tithi vedha .. ie saptami vedha fo ashtami .. that means the whole day in morning should be saptami and in the night ashtami should appear .. the moonrise will be arghya time for KRISHNAHTAMI .. if rohini s also there at time it becomes JAYANTI ..

  • VishNudharmottar Purana says " RohiNi sahita krishNamaasi BhadrapadeashtaMi | saptamyaamardhratre tu kala vaapi yada bhavet | saivoposhya iti Bhadrapad KrsihNashtami Jayanti ityuktah || here there seems to be clear instructions of Bhadrapada masa being the Krishna shtami and jayanti
  • So some say since it is MAdhwacharya who says Bhadrapada masa and vishnu dharmottar purana also says bhadrapada .. one must celebrate jayanti krishnashtami in bhadrapada
  • In dharma Shastra , the vakya [ the instruction ] which goes against many pramanas should be reconciled ... Here MADHWACHARAYA says Bhadrapa masa / and bahuvaakya virodha possibility is there as , sanyasa paddhati says ... rohiNi sahita Krsihna mase SHRAVANE ashtami | jayanti naam saprokta mahapatak nashini " leaving no doubts that even jayanti is also in SHRAVANA .. then there is sanatakumar samhita . bhavishyottar purana , skanda purana padma purana .. so many vakya virodha is possible ./. SO SRIMADANANDA teertha and Vishnu Dharmottar purana sentence must be reconcilied ... what is reconciliation ..There is a tradition of calling a month from the pratipada after Porrnima .. ie after SHravan poornima , the pratipada is called as Bhadrapada pratipada so shravan krishNa ashtami is also called as Bhadrapada ashtami ... in North India this tradition is active ..so by taking this ashtami in this way " saapi pourNimasya masaan sampadya iti " Smritimuktavali author says there will be no contradiction in what MADHWACHARYA says and what purnas says .. thus Krishna ashtami is SHRAVAN bahulaAshtami only

  • shravan masa is chaandramaan .. simha masa sauramana .. but whenever there is cross ref .. simha masa of saurmana refres to shravana masa of chaandramaana
  • NO not vice versa because then ashtami tithi which is salient feature of chandramaan will also lose its meaning .. because saura ashtami will be that day when sun is 8degrees .. if sauramana takes precedence ... and we do not see such tradition .. we see saptami viddha ashtami from chandramana onl

Pranayama

  • Pranayama should be done after achieving nadi shuddhi else diseases descend

  • Rechak is exhaling [ first with a force thrugh left and pressing rleft nostrill slowly exhaling with right nostrill ]
  • purak is [ press the right nostrill with the right thumb ] inhaling through the left nostril slowly
  • Kumbhak is holding the breath still for sometime ...shvasnirodh ..
  • 200 ms [ ardh matra ] is the time taken for uttering a consonant ..
  • time taken to utter 16 consonants should be the time for Rechak ...
  • Poorak kumbhak should be twice the rechak
  • Pranayama should be done atleast 12 times 24 times or 36 times .. in a single go ..
  • In madhwa tradition Rechak is always done through right nostril ... BUt before that first rechak requires the inner impurities to expel ..this can happen with a force so it is said that one must exhale through left and then close left nostril so that rechaka process is natural
  • when rechaka is done through left nostrill . it dispels the inner dirt .. but when you exhale from right .. it gives momentum to prana which is raised through poorak

  • BUT looking at the ant couples and their zeal ,[ if they crave for more ] if the entire laddo falls on them will they survive ? can they bear it ? so as much as we can afford ! one should get only as much one can actually carry ... and not aspire beyond capacity !
  • RAYARU has a gigantic LADDOO [slp slp slp ] .... even if rayaru .. showers few specs [left overs -chidakna ] those sweet laddoo we can survive for entire for whole life along with our family ...

  • so VAnvaasa would disallow them any human interaction or duties of civilisation

  • SO knowledge is paramount ...if by knwoledge of ayurveda or astrology one knows that its all over .. instead of lamenting on destiny one will sit in dhyaana or like parikshit call SHUKA MUNI and listen to BHAGAVAT

  • now let us say we know a person is powerful and very short tempered and our superior ... if he comes to us for some interaction .. very well knowing .. if anything goes wrong the gentleman is going to punish and punish badly ... instead of approaching him with clean happy mind .. we will immediately get agitated and if he finds any fault with us we start justifying ourselves and want to prove that he is unencessarily making it a point and is just seeking avenues to punish .. we just want to blame him and the psychilogical war starts the moment he enters the scene

CHIKDREN FELT BAD .... what is the use of religious nature of OLD LADY ?

  • NEMI became angry and took water to curse VASHISTHA back ... [ for cursing without fault of his ] ... his wife immediately came and told ... GURU like VASHISHTHA is from the start of KULA .. they are like pitrus .. one must not curse them ... even if they ahve done somehing wrong to us ...
  • NEMI who had already taken water ... had to sipose water ... wherever disposed it would give adverse effect .. so finally he decides to pour it over his own foot .. his feet become dark and dirty ,... from then he was called KALMASHPADA

  • SO if you choose a krodhi kaami incomplete gurus ... you will sustain only injuries
  • So one must choose a complete guru ..THERE is NO GURU other than RAYARU who is perfect , complete and devaswabhava

  • GO to MANTRALAYAM ... do shodoshopachaar pooja .. and then say OH RAYARU please accept me as shishya

  • what happens when we have a right guru ? making a shishya lead good life becomes responsibility of guru
  • RAYARU is everywhere .. at all times in all situations ... it is his responsibility to show us what is right and what is wrong
  • when guru is perfect then we can be rest assured of best guidance
  • sometimes we are in problems ..but we do not want to say it ... but wants someone to just solve it ...
  • humans have tendency to seek pleasure in others dukh bhari kahani ... so people say okay let me know what is your problem ..
  • and while one is recounting his tale , he /she feels very diminished before other person .... and other person rejoices his temp place of gurutva .. he becomes authoritative ,.. and all knowing ... and talks nonesense and unrelated just because other person is asking he has to give advice

  • when we are workig we face two kinds of anger .. anger within the organisation and anger from sources external to organisation

  • so to keep stability one must have indriyanigraha ...with all senses under control one can lead successful life undisturbed ..
  • To get indriyanigraha one must have vinaya
  • when vinaya is lost .. indriyanigraha is lost
  • loss of vinaya means enter the ego

  • what should one do to develop vinaya ?
  • one gets vinaya by VRUDDHOPASEVA
  • those who do not look after their elders always face obstructions in career
  • So follwoing dharma has its benefit even from career finance job stability point of view as well

  • how many times have you failed to take your parents to that function which they wanted to attend despeartely
  • how many times have you brought the favourite fruit of you mother without her asking for it ?
  • how many of you have taken time out in a day just to speak few words [ gappa goshthi ] with parents ..
  • how many times have you got up in midnight to check whether ur parents are sleeping well ... without discomfort
  • how many times have you foregone your desire just because parents didnt like it !
  • how many times have you fallen on the feet of you parents and said sorry
  • finally has anyone sat calmly atleast once till now and said to himself okay i have done all this now i should do porayashchitta ?
  • So looking at the list what is view of VRUDDHOPASEVA ... seems more negatve points than positive
  • that means 99% fail in vrudhdhopaseva .. so no vinaya ... so no indriya nigraha .. so no rajya ,..no artha ... no dharma .[ samanya dharma ] .. HOW can we even talk about BHAGAVAT DHARMA

NO // in evey shubh karya in our house be it upanayana or marraige .. we establish nandi .. to invite all our pitrus ti witness our function and bless us .. so where is the end of relationship ,... it just gets extended to another form of body ./.

  • SO Bramhanda PURANA lays down that MANTRA DRASHTAR is the one who has not less than 20 laxanas out 32 laxanas .. such a man should belong to a VEDA ADYAYANA paramapara .. the veda he sees shoudl also have been amongst the parampara and he should be a practising vedic tapasvi ./.
  • SO with this SAGE BHRIGU becomes apt drashtar for TRIVALLI of YAJUSH Taiitiriyopanishat .. ..
