Retrograde Planets

  • Why do planet appear to be retrograde ..ie move backwards ? while moving backwards and again moving forward they become Stationary , what is the rational behind being stationary ?
  • The Bhchakra is revolving around the earth ...that is denoted by circle one [inner circle in top image ...the outer circle is the motion of planet mars ...The numbers 1.2.3.4.5.6.7 are the variable motion of the bhachakra and mars .. at given instance 1 2 3 4 5 6 ...

  • let us project these points onto a plane [ as seen from earth ] ... at point 1 of bhachakra [zodiac] corresponding point on the track of motion of mars projects as 1 on the plane .. similarly 2 , 3 also projects linearly ... at point 4 the motion of mars differs with motion of zodiac .. the projected point is now little behind the point 3 ... so also point 5 and at point 6 is again linearly head of point of 3 ...and so also 7 is head of 6 ... this gives a feeling of backward motion and forward motion to the onlooker on earth when he fixes the position of mars wrt zodiac ...
  • bhachakra point goes ahead ... say mars in aries 20deg ,, and then point 20 deg aries itself moves ahead then mars seems oving backwards becuase then mars wil be at 19 deg aries

  • In surya sidhdhanta .. the retrograde of MARS is given as Sigrocchha - Mars = 164 deg .... that means when Mars is 164 deg from sigroccha [ usually mean position of SUN ]

  • tan x = PQ / EQ = z sin y / (r +cosy )
  • x= taninverse [ z siny /( r+ z cosy ) ]
  • dx /dt = (dy/dt ) (z^2 + rz cos y )/ ( r^2 + z^2 + 2rz cos y )
  • now substitute the above equation in dL/dt = n- dy/dt + dx/dt
  • dL/dt = n + dy/dt [ ( z^2 +rz cos y ) / (r^2 + z^2 + 2rz cos y) ]
  • If n is the daily motion of SUN and n` is the daily motion of PLANET and C is some constant ... then y = ( n-n` ) (t+C) so dy/dt =(
  • substituting this is the equation dL/dt
  • dL/dt = [nz^2 + n`r^2 +rz (n+n`) cos y ] / [ r^2 + z^2 + 2rz cos y ]

  • In case of MARS .. n= 0.98560265 deg and n`= 0.5240193deg , z= 233.5 deg , r =360 deg substituting these in equation .. ..........cos y = -0.9586391
  • y= 180 - cosinvers [ 0.9586391 ]

  • The MODER ASTRONOMY gives cos y = - [ a^1/2 ]/ [a -a ^1/2 +1 ] where a is the mean distance between sun and the planet in astronomical units .. one astronomical unit is distance between earth and sun
  • for mars modern astronomy y = 163.215 ... suryasidhdhant y= 164 drik sidhdhant y= 163
  • SO CAn we say VEDIC SCHOLARS were AWARE OF TRIGONOMETRY AND CALCULUS

  • Publishing will not help ... madhwa bramhins should know them and take up jypotishya .. for all purpose maths is astronomy ... and useful for jyotishya ... because many bramhins left learning jyotishya and average brains became panchangakartas .... we have lost mathematics ... to such an extent that .... when europeans starting teaching as our own subject .. we thought its a great invention and something we never knew about .. THIS pitiable state of education is because ..of bramhins not keen to learn jyotishya and do manan on it /.

  • there will be two solutions for dL/dT=0 // y= 164 and y=360 -164 = 196 so planet becomes ruju after 196 deg ... it remains retro in between 164 and 196 ... these are degrees of seeghrakendra of mars and not longitudes of mars /... ongitude is found out by its position inepicycle an then corresponding center of epicycle ..

IS ASTROLOGY A DEFINITIVE SCIENCE ?

  • LEts take a example , SUN in seventh house , woman is deserted by the husband ...... ... NAla damayantu many example ... NOW when you see SUN in seventh can an astrologer confidently say the subject will be deserted .. CAN THAT BE DEFINITIVE ?
  • SO how can Astrologer be definitive in prediction / is it right to say meri jabaan paththar ki lakeer ?
  • Okay .. lets put it like this ... JUST for a moment think we have never studied MADHWACHRYA's MBTN ... THEN whole MAHABHARTA is indefinitive .. we cannot conclude what is what ... THEN enter MBTN the samw Mahabharta is now definitive ... WHAT is the moral of the story ?

  • There is tartamaya in mantras too ... Many a times non dwija members ask .. that bramhanas can get rid of sins everyday with sandhyavandana .. how can non dwija get rid .... so there is stotra for that too ...there are stotras which give phala of yagnyas ..

  • Good days for safe operation ! dwitiya ,tritiya panchami , saptami, dashami , trayodashi ... tithis ... ashwini rohini ,mrugashira ,pushya , hasta , citta swati , anuradha , shravana , abhijit , dhanishtha , shatatara , nakshatras .. ravi , mangal guruvaar , and days when mars and moon are well placed !!!!!!!

Chara Dasha

  • Chara dasha ! an interesting dasha ..... lagnaadi vyayaparyantam bhaanaam charadashaam bruve | tasaat tadeeshparyatam sankhyaamatra dashaam viduh || MEshaadi - tritribhairgnyeyam padamojapade kramaat | dashaabdaanayane kaaryaa gaNana vyutkraaat same ||
  • scholars are of varied opinion wrt " tritribhair gnyeyam "
  • what is tri tri from meshaadi ?
  • Scholar 1 opines ... from aries onwards three three signs should be considered as even or odd and counting should be done for dasha years ,clockwise from rashi to its lord , in case of even rashi and anti clockwise for odd rashis ...
  • so from this point of .. for aries taurus gemini becomes odd and its dasha should be counted forward and for cancer leo virgo counted backwards
  • scholar 2 opines - every rashi be ivided in four padas .. and such pada be considered od and even an counting be done as suggested

  • for chara rashi it is regular order of dasha ... 2>for sthira rashis "ravitah " ... ravi means ra =2 va= 4 ravi = 24 thats is 42 42 /12 remainde = 6 so for sthir rashi the order of dasha is lagna then 6th rashi from it and so on ..... 3>for ubhaya rashis one must take kendras and then panapharas and then apoklimas in that order .. ie 1 4 7 10 2 5 8 11 3 6 9 12 in that order

  • If observed closely one can understand that this dasha is independent of birth time ... and can be calculated with rashi chart
  • some of the importan events of life especially the financial staus and success duration can be judged from this dasha
  • one of the differences with vimshottari dasha with chara dashi is apart from it being rashi dasha .. it is more analysed through the paka and bhoga rashi
  • the rashi from where dasha commences is Paka rashi ... it is dwara of dasha ...and then 1>count from lagna to paka rashi say x number is arrived .. 2> dd x to paka rashi ... 3> this newly arrived rashi is BHOGA RASHI ... as and how the disposition of Paaka and Bhoga rashi ... wrt argala and aspect there will good and bad events in life during that period
  • In nakshatra dashas like udu dasha ... if time of a persons birth is wrong by 5 minutes or so .. the dasha will differ by 24 days .. so while astrologer might think its budha antardasha , saturn may still be running ,.so predictions may go wrong ...... in case of chara dasha as dasha is not dependent on time of birth , it will result in acurate predictions

  • second inetrpretaion is Longevity shud be judged from NINTH house and SUN
  • if one goes by this translation he will never get right result .... and also one will get confused In general books [ as a novice i read logevity is seen from 8th house ] now what is this new funda ?
  • now comes teh GUHYA bahsha ...
  • In teh begining SAGE writes a sutra " SARVATRA savarNabhava rashyashch " " na grahah" .... that means [ whatever is written after this the bhava and rahsis must be decipehered with KATAPAYADI scheme only /. NA graha the same shud not be used for PLANETS
  • and there will be some exceptiosn in between it will be hinted ... so suddenly in the flow of sutras [ a veiled hint will appear ] and this RULE will vanish for that particular sutra ... and again it will rsume for next ..
  • SO in thsi case .. PITRU according to katapayadi scheme means 1 ie LAGNA ... and DINA means (80= 8)
  • now one who does nOT sanskrit ... for their kind information the MEANING fo SUTRA NA graha is NOT interpreted by any SCHOLAR at all because they did NOT udnerstand it .. it is SKIPPED in amjor tarsnlations ... and KATAPAYADI scheme is USED as a TARDITIONAL oral SCHEMES handed DOWN

Ishta phala

Ishta phala kasta phala ,represents amount of happiness that planet gives during s its dasa. sometimes people tend to sigh at the end of a dasa , it was a good period or i almost lost everything …… etc due to ishta and kashta phala. however shadbala gives quantum of each effect that planet gives as a yoga . in one psot on strengths i have even sown calculations demonstrating this, the net result in a chart rashi divisional is shubha pankti X shadbala , so if a planet is paramaneecha then shubha pankti is 0 thus 0 X shadbala = 0 thus no good result whatsoever be strength. but ashubh pankti is 60 so 60 X shadbala is ashubha. neecha planet aspecting neecha is like near and dear deserting after a mishap. however three neecha planet is raj yoga. also if th eneecha planets two are sixth and eighth lords then also one will get rajya.
