- WHILE the question is CAN the books with TRANSLATION be read ? THE answer is two fold , FIRST lets us understand what did our POORVACHARYAs DO !
- ACharya MADHWA wrote GRANTHAS why ? so that next generation can DO manana ! and GURUJANas can refer and TEACH [ as memory is not infalliable in kaliyuga ] .. THESE granthas were simplified in teekas MEANS they were translated in SIMPLER SANSKRIT .. the simplfication resulted into ELABORATION and detailing and hence became more interesting ....
- NOW if the purpose is about making normal people aware [ this is second aspect ] , JAGANNATH dasaru have written the same thing THAT SARVAMOOLA conveys in VErnacular LANGUAGE [ without quoting where the original occurs ] just like a compendium and alternate source of KNWOLEDGE .. NOW this is more relevant because it is authentic ..
- SO first one is SIMPLIFIED tRANSLATION and ELABOARATION second one is VERNACULAR compilation ... THE second one can be read without a FORAML UPADESHA
- IT is teh recent effort of TRANSLATING SARVAMOOLA into KANNADA or ENGLISH shud not be termed as TRANSLATION ... and neither is it SIMPLIFICATION NOR is it ELABORATION .. WHY and how ?
- EVEN to write TEEKA TIPPANI the great authors , our seers although THEY were SANYASIS themselves [ emans their purity is GURANTEED as their ACHARANa is 100% perfect ] YET they DID TAPASYA of HIGHEST KIND like siting in guha , not eating anything [ ie they raised their level of SADHAN [ even though it was optimum already by human standards ] , and tyhen after many such days in SADHANA they undertook the activity of writinga TEEKA TIPPANi ie simplfication or ELABORATION
- BUT todays scholars are drenched in SINS [ they are sub OPTIMAL in their acharana ] and when they sit for writing such TRANSLATION their motive is more commercial than SPIRITUAL ] iuts like filling in teh GAP for the PUBLSIHING industry to cater to some INTELLECTUALS who cherish reading SARVAMOOLA as a COFFEE TABLE book
- SO THESE taranslations are INVARIABLY FAULTY as the amount of sadhan required to UNDERTAKE such EFFORTS is MISSING ... [ ARE WE justified in looking at teh SADHNA point of view of TRANSLATORS ?] yes because POORVACHARYAS have done that and it shud have SOME MEANING elose writi9ng anything by their standards of LIVING is ALSO ACCEPTABLE to US yet THEY DID noT DO SO means THEIR is SOMETHING to ponder OVER !
- certain CRITICAL APPRECIATION of SARVAMOOLA existed even before RAYARU and they were also WRITTEN byE MINENT YATIS ., and YET theyw ere DISMISSED misrably by RAYARU as having poorly portrayed like HALF NUDE wwoman .. [ the rhetoric used SHOWS how IMPORTANT it is WRITE something on SARVAMOOLA with reverene
- TEH same gOES with READING , it acnnot eb read like KADAMBARI sitting in STUDY or FLIGHT or OFF TIME in between PRJECT SCHEDULES , or as a READ before a SLEEP ..

- SO if anyone means by reading SARVAMOOLA as reading with NIYAMa nishtha ansusandhan VRATACHARANA [ then he has an advantage ] now what is that ? that means after SHANKODAKA [ shkhan bramana , if oen sits down and AS PARYANA seva does MOOLA GRANTHA PATHA ] that is called as SVADHAYAYA ... reading on anadhyaaya , during sandhya , or night while sitig on bed or chair , while chatting or having jokes withc olleagues , trying to steal in few minutes while cokking or pelasing women , is nOT CALLED READING SARVAMOOLA ..
- SITTING in shalya dhoti madi , after doing regular pranyana , taking sankalpa that I will finish this grantha in seven day ten days 21 dfays and accordingly reading moola and for arthnusandha reading translations , and then doing manana is CALLED GRANTH abahyasa ..
- that still does not guarantee any KNOWLEDGE because in class of 70 when the same teacher is teaching in excellent manner only few get distinction and many fail to grasp basics .. REASON ? so person all by himself reading and claiming HE ahs knwon the subject IS ILLUSION only ... SO what is the SOLUTION ?
- the solution is TWO fold - 1> take a sankalpa beforer RAYARU in madi .. and sut on krishnajna and SAY " oh RAYARU you are my GURU , tecah me sitting inside my BRAIN BUDDHI , while toungue reads or uters the words read ! SHOW me the RIGHT MEANINg inspit\re teh YATHARTHA !
- 2> appoint ytourself a VIDYA guru there are so many sudha pandits gradyating every year from VIDYAPEETHA , get four or five of th like minded people , appoint oen such YOUNG or EXPERIENCED person to come toa RAYAR mutt at fixed appointed time s[ mutually ecided with organisers ] and have a patha of sarvamoola regularly slwoly from thsi LEARNED man .. he will also have some livelihood
- BUT GETTING DOUBTS IS CRUX OF LEARNING AND MANAN .. IF you are not getting DOUBTS means you ahve not understood anything
- WHy TRANSLATION does not work , LOOK at MAXmueller traslations , THE very HEART of the CONTEXT discussed will be missing [ as authour feels that is TOO INDIANISATION and unacceptable to Western mind and they would TRANSLATE ASHWAMEDHA YAGNYA as a IMMENSE DESIRE of KING TO CONQUER the world PUTTING AT bait THE lives economy and wealth OF A nation AND people aT stake FOR HIS DSESIRE and AMBITION .. but ACTUAL meaning will be IT is VARNASHRAM dharma of KSHATRIYA .. so view of TRANSLATOR if it is westernised the WHOLE MEANING changes ...
- THIS acn be answered in two ways 1> YOU are a self proclaimed NON sanskrit student - then yoru kartavya is to read ONLY the VERNACULAR language books [ LIKE HKS , OTEHRS ] and know the tatva and ATTEND PRAVACHANAS and make your understanding ... [ else preventing stree sudras from reading sarvamoola vedas makes no sense if moola with kannada translation can be read by them too ] and those who have no upadesha are akin to bramha bandhus
- 2> if you ahve learnt sanskrit and ar in process of perfecting then traslations help form some idea of the priginal and INVARIABLY a GURU is rquired to weed out MITHYA GYANA ..
- 3> you know sanskrit and ahve upadesha , then the SANSKRIT moola teeka tippani all you need is MANAN with dhyana on each word , [ here if TRASLATION is excellent it helps QUICK dhyana ]
- THE first set shud do arhata sampadana and then venture into READING .. else they will get bramhahatya dosha too
- HOW tpo do ARHATA sampadana .. RAYARU says read his GEETA VIVRUTTI as per nIYAMA [ you dont require upadesha for it ] and once you ahve completed you ahve SOME initial training in how to READ GRANTHAS ]
- LEARNING under SUDHA pandit [ since the pupil is not one , he may be intelligent than scholar ] BUT havinga ccroded vidya gurus sthana VIDYAdevi becomes prasanna and VIDYA become upadishTA .. REMEMBER EVEN ACHARYA accepoted an ORDINARY SOUL as his GURU [ that is LOUKIKA which shud not be by passed ] ... but THAT woudl give adhikara to do manan and read teh GRANTHAS all by self and doubts raised willor can eb CLEARED BY BETTER people
- 99% of scholars of 60s - through 2000 all are heavily influenced and awed BY WESTERN THINKING [ their internal struggle to come to terms with actual VEDIC thinking and condemning western thought is negligible ] so no formal differrence between MAX muelker and modern scholars // A NOVICFE may no0t find teh diffrence , but an EXPERT will show 100 mistakes which is detrimental to sadhana ... IN a MERE ACADEMIC mODE [ sanskrit grammarian point of view ] is a ELITE EXERCISE ONLY ] it may give temporary HIGH and can make up for a GOOD DEBATE or DISCUSSION ... BUT will never PUSH anyone into PRACTSIE .. this POINT of miNE is eveident that NONE HAS STARTED PRACTSIIG MADHWA PHILSOOPHY bY READING TRASLATIONS
- NO SANSKRIT NO SARVAMOOLA why I say so emphatically , because if YOU AHVE SO MUCH ZEAL to read ACHARYA's work YOU will learn SANSKRIT ... that laziness to not leasrn has to go ... so STRONG DICTUMS only help remove LETHARGY
- if you dont learn sanskrit ., and read translation , then YOU WILL BLINDLY AHVE TO ACCEPT what AUTHOR thinks is RIGHT
- then in a DEBATE your stance will always be like NO THIS IS RIGHT because DR BANNAJE says so [ and not ACHARYA MADHWA SAYS SO ]
- ON the contrary if you know sanskrit .. your THINKING will be can this be the TRANSLATION of this , or is there any other meaning , or can this be the CONCEPT . is teh author correct .. then in a debate the VIEW POINT will be while SCHOLAR 1 says so , SCHOLAR 2 has this view , MY view is thsi WHAT si teh RIGHT view , is this also ACHARYA's view ?

- KARTYAVEERYARJUN infact SEEKS a BOON that he be WAGING WAR every NOW and THEN .. and is APPLAUDED for it ...
- SO the whole of rpevious example is TO SHOW how SCHOLARS are AWAY from REALITY and hence tgheir writing will also be AWAY from REALITY cannot be solley relied UPON
- So the next QUESTION arises is WHY are scholars AWAY from REALITY ?
- BECAUSE most intellctuals have to spend MORE time of their lifespan in EVOLVING what they are witnessing is it an ABERRATION or BITTER TRUTH .. if its an aberration it needs CORRECTION and SHOULD i CORRECT it ? am i eligible .? is it my duty ?
- VERy soon he realsies the BITTER TRUTH that .. he cannot correct it , HE does not knwo whether he is eligibel or NOT ? its not his duty BUT ITS COLLECTIVE DUTY is what he conludes and then he SEEKS SUPPORT from others .. where he fails again .. and then he finally ABIDES by teh rule , IF YOU CANT BEAT THEM JOIN THEM !

- but regularl;y doing paryana GAVE soem insights and understanding , and then actuall reading of SUTRA BHASHYA became very easy .. SO MOOLA reading BLINDLY also GIVES RESULTS tangible why think about faulty translations as ONLY MEANS to [ mark the word only it is not discounted totally ] LEARN and understand

- SO the CONCLSUION si READ in a NIYAM nishtha anusandhan MODE ONLY .. and try to understand TRANSLATIONS as against BACKDROP of ARAYR seva ONLY , DONT read as a NOVEL or bed TIME BOOK or coffe shop EDITION
